At just 8 years old, Emmeline’s prodigious talent shone through when she was chosen to lead her school choir in a stirring performance of The Sound of Music. This marked the beginning of a lifelong love affair with the stage. Her passion continued to flourish in high school, where she took on a starring role in Grease, captivating audiences with her vibrant performance.

By the age of 17, Emmeline had already joined her first band, setting the stage for an extraordinary career. Her early achievements were recognized by the Morrinsville Country Music Club, which awarded her the prestigious title of Best New Talent in 1990 during The Entertainer of the Year competition. From these early successes, Emmeline’s journey in music has been nothing short of spectacular.

Professional Career

In the vibrant karaoke competitions of the 90s, Emmeline's incredible talent led her to compete across the Waikato region, where she amassed numerous awards and accolades. One of her victories even secured her an exclusive audition for Waikato’s premier show band, Living Proof.

In 1997, Emmeline joined Living Proof, marking the beginning of her illustrious professional career. She captivated audiences nationwide, performing at Charter Clubs and Corporate Events throughout New Zealand. Emmeline’s dynamic stage presence and versatile voice paid tribute to the timeless hits of ABBA, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, as well as Rock ‘n’ Roll and Disco classics, solidifying her status as a true star of the stage.

Living Proof's rise to fame was meteoric, quickly becoming New Zealand's premier show band. With a series of triumphant national tours, the band graced iconic venues such as The Waikato Stadium, Wellington Town Hall, The Aotea Centre, and achieved sellout performances at Founders Theatre in Hamilton. A pinnacle moment came in 1998 when they headlined Christmas in the Park alongside the legendary Malvina Major, enchanting audiences with their captivating show.

Their success extended beyond New Zealand, with regular seasons on the glittering Gold Coast and headlining performances at Sydney Town Hall and the Convention Centre. Sharing the stage with The Ten Tenors and the iconic Australian band Mental As Anything, Living Proof's star power shone brightly, cementing their place as a top-tier show band both at home and abroad.

A new direction

After three successful years with Living Proof, Emmeline decided to embark on a solo career, a move that allowed her to explore new musical horizons and further hone her exceptional vocal talent. She joined a jazz band, which played a pivotal role in refining her voice and expanding her musical repertoire.

Inspired by her newfound vocal versatility, Emmeline launched her own show, Lady Legends, captivating audiences across the country with stunning performances that paid homage to iconic female artists. With each performance, she added more dazzling impersonations to her repertoire, cementing her status as a dynamic and versatile entertainer. Emmeline's solo journey has been a testament to her passion and unwavering dedication to the art of performance.
